April Johnson

As the Director of Donor Engagement, April provides strategic leadership to the team dedicated to engaging donors financially supporting KUOW’s mission to create and serve a more informed public by broadening conversations and deepening understanding.

April has worked within the nonprofit community for over two decades, with a majority of that time in higher education. Prior to joining KUOW, April was the Senior Director of Development at WSU’s Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, which includes Northwest Public Broadcasting.

April completed her undergraduate work at Eastern University and holds an MPA from the University of Washington. April has served on the board and remains an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Advancement NW Chapter.

You can find April walking one of Seattle’s many parks, attending live shows, volunteering with her daughter’s Girl Scout troop and school, and reading through an ever-growing tower of books.
