Your Photos From Seattle Teachers Strike

Sep 10, 2015

Teachers aren’t the only ones on the picket lines during their strike in Seattle. Parents and children are showing support by picking up signs and bringing food to the picketers.

One parent said of the experience for her second-grader: "It was a wonderful lesson in one of the things that makes America unique! Our right to assemble, our right to stand up for what we believe!"

Here’s a selection of images that KUOW listeners and readers have been sharing on social media:

Cathy Donohue writes: “Here is my 2 year old future SPS student supporting her sibling's teachers at Thornton Creek elementary.”

Joslin Roth: 'My son Carson Roth who will be a second-grader at Louisa Boren STEM K-8 handed out red flowers to the teachers yesterday. We brought snacks and tried to support the educators by keeping things moving smoothly. Passing out waters and food to the picketers. It was a wonderful lesson in one of the things that makes America unique! Our right to assemble, our right to stand up for what we believe! We will be back everyday until they no longer have to walk!'
