If you feel like you're just waking up from a long winter, you're not alone. Bears feel the same way. And they're out and about in the North Cascades.
Except for grizzly bears, that is. Scientists estimate that there are very few grizzly bears left in the North Cascades – maybe a couple dozen.
Chris Morgan wants to change that. He's a Bellingham-based bear expert, filmmaker and an author based in Bellingham. And he wants to augment the number of grizzly bears to the North Cascades.
That could really happen. The National Park Service and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are looking into it. And they're asking you to comment - pro or con - on their Grizzly Bear Environmental Impact Statement, or EIS.
