For Nurses, The Hospital Can Be A Dangerous Place

An NPR investigative report reveals that those who are entrusted with treating injuries actually suffer from them the most.

Nurses in the U.S. experience more debilitating back and body injuries than almost any other occupation.

NPR’s Investigations Correspondent Daniel Zwerdling explains to Here & Now’s Robin Young why in comparison to construction workers, nurses are three times as likely to become injured on the job, how hospitals are failing to prevent these incidents and the legal action that should be taken to protect hospital employees.
