Cey Adams: From Graffiti To Corporate Clients

Ross Reynolds speaks with graphic artist Cey Adams about how Adams' career has paralleled the rise of hip hop and rap culture over the past 30 years.

He was a graffiti artist in New York in the 1970s. He became part of the underground art scene with Jean Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring.

Adams made his name as a hip hop graphic designer and worked with Def Jam records on logos and ads for the Beastie Boys, Run DMC and Eminem.

Now he works with corporate clients like Nike, Coca-Cola and HBO.

He was in Seattle for the Seattle Interactive Conference to speak with young people about career opportunities behind the scenes in rap music, social media and graphic design.

Reynolds interviewed Adams at the Experience Music Project on October 13.
