There’s a recommendation on whether Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl will face a court martial, but it’s not being released to the public yet.

Bergdahl’s attorney says the hearing officer overseeing the Army’s case sent his recommendations Monday to the U.S. Army Forces Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Bergdahl is facing charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. In 2009 he walked away from his Army outpost in southeastern Afghanistan. He was captured and held by the Taliban for nearly five years.

The Idaho native was in court last month for a preliminary hearing known as an Article 32, meant to determine if there should be a full court martial.

Bergdahl's attorney, Eugene Fidell, wants the Army to release the hearing officer’s recommendation.

So far the Army has declined comment on that. It also won't say when a decision on Bergdahl's case might be made.
