About Patricia Murphy:
Patricia Murphy has been hosting "All Things Considered" at KUOW since 2000, before that she was keeping ungodly hours in New Hampshire as the "Morning Edition" host at New Hampshire Public Radio. While in New Hampshire, Patricia covered two presidential primaries. Patricia cut her teeth at WBUR in Boston writing newscasts.
While at KUOW, Patricia has produced many feature length reports and two documentaries. Both documentaries received national awards. In 2003 "The Alcan 5000" won first place from the Public Radio News Directors Association, and in 2004 "Taming the Snake" won first place from the Radio and TV News Directors Association. You can also hear Patricia's stories on NPR, "The Savvy Traveler," "Weekend America," and "Voice of America."
Patricia's free time is spent taking care of her baby Owen. Beyond that you can find her trying to recapture a bit of her old life as an avid trail runner, exploring the North Cascades.
