Board of Directors

The broadcast license for KUOW was awarded to the University of Washington Board of Regents in 1951. Under an agreement, the station is managed by KUOW Puget Sound Public Radio, a private, nonprofit corporation established in 1999 and governed by the KUOW PSPR community board of directors.

The KUOW PSPR Board of Directors provides fiscal oversight and management of affairs, property, and interests, ensuring that the organization meets its goals, steering the organization towards a sustainable future by providing insight for ethical governance and financial management practices. The KUOW PSPR board is comprised of 16-27 directors who serve for up to three terms of three years each.

Unless noted, all meetings are hosted in a hybrid format via Zoom virtually and in person at WSCEU's Rita Koontz Community Space at 1121 NE 45th St Ste 100, Seattle, WA 98105).

Full Meeting Schedule

All meetings are open to the public. Meeting are held on Thursdays from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. at the KUOW Station, 4518 University Way NE, Seattle 98105, unless otherwise noted. All board and committee meetings will be hybrid until further notice. You will receive a Zoom meeting link to register for the meeting once it’s available. The November meeting is our Annual Meeting, and it is on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the KUOW Station.

Finance & Audit Committee

All Finance & Audit Committee meetings are held on Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. The Finance & Audit Committee meetings will be hybrid until further notice. Reach & Resource Committee (Formerly Development Committee)

All Strategic Planning Committee meetings are held 3:30 – 5:00 PM. The Strategic Planning Committee meetings will be held hybrid until further notice. Meetings of the Board of Directors and Board Committees, or portions of those meetings at which matters relating to individual employees, proprietary information, litigation, or certain other matters requiring the confidential advice of counsel, commercial or financial information obtained from a person on a privileged or confidential basis, or the purchase of property or services whenever the premature exposure of such purchase would compromise the operations or business interests of KUOW may be closed to the public pursuant to 47 USC sec 396(k)(4).

If such meetings or portions of those meetings are closed, the specific reason for closing a meeting or portion of a meeting will be made available on this website within 10 days of the closed meeting or closed portion thereof.
