21 of you want to be Seattle's next mayor

With incumbent Mayor Ed Murray dropping out, a full score plus one of candidates are now in the race to be Seattle's next mayor.

The weeklong filing period for candidates ended Friday at 4:30 p.m. So here's who's in, according to the King County Elections website (links are to their filing info; see note below on the official list; see campaign disclosure reports here):

Seattle City Council Position 8

It's another political free-for-all in the battle for this seat, after Councilmember Tim Burgess decided not to seek re-election. Candidates who have filed for Position 8:

Seattle City Council Position 9

Councilmember Lorena González was considering the mayor's race, but in the end she decided to run again for the other at-large seat, Position 9.

Here are the candidates for that seat:

Candidates still have through next Monday to withdraw if they change their mind. So King County Elections plans to release the “official” list on Tuesday.
