KUOW, 94.9 FM has a great opportunity for an On-Call Administrative Services Office Assistant to support the front office functions and provide customer service in our administration department. This on-call position works closely with the admin team responsible for front-line customer service, guest reception, responding to listener inquiries and other admin related duties; and reports to the Manager, Administration.
Licensed to the University of Washington (“UW”), KUOW is the Puget Sound Region’s NPR-affiliated public radio service delivering local, regional, national and international news, information and cultural programming.

Provide front-line customer service including guest reception, answering phones and responding to listener questions and concerns via phone and email.
Perform administrative services related duties.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer phones, voicemail and email, transferring calls and forwarding emails to appropriate parties.
Respond to listener inquiries, complaints, and comments using independent print and electronic research.
Update customer service database with follow-up responses to telephone and email queries.
Grant access to and greet station guests, escorting them to the Green Room and alerting staff members of their arrival.
Dealing with uninvited guests according to KUOW policy.
Inventory, order, receive and distribute office supplies and equipment as needed or requested.
Collect and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
Update and maintain staff contact lists.
Assist with events
Other duties as assigned.
High school graduation or GED and 2 years of applicable experience or equivalent education.
First-rate customer service skills exercising judgment and initiative.
Excellent verbal and written communication proficiency.
Ability to tactfully and intelligently respond to listener inquiries, complaints and comments using print and electronic research tools.
Ability to work independently to prioritize and execute multiple tasks.
General computer proficiency, including ability to use Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and standard office equipment.
Multicultural Competence – experience with working with diverse populations
Familiarity with KUOW and/or public radio
General awareness of news and current affairs.
Multilingualism is a plus
