Data Reporter

KUOW seeks a data reporter with creative vision; someone who can look at a dataset and transform it into a lively, informative experience for our audiences on-air and online.

This position will obtain and analyze data using spreadsheets, database managers, mapping and other data visualization tools to find outliers, trends, and other newsworthy information for KUOW’s coverage of local, state and federal elections in 2016. Editorially, the reporter’s main focus will be on revealing evidence that underlies investigative reporting by KUOW’s elections team, including campaign spending, hidden influence, lobbying and violations of public trust. This is a 10-month temporary appointment with benefits.
