Democratic activists in the city of Seattle last night began picking favorites in the Seattle mayoral election. Incumbent mayor Mike McGinn didn’t make their list.

The 46th District Democrats was the first local party organization to endorse in the race. The 46th Legislative District includes parts of north Seattle, Shoreline, and Kenmore.

After weeks of rumors, it appears Seattle may have a new professional basketball team to replace the SuperSonics. Investor Chris Hansen said his group has entered an agreement to purchase a controlling interest in the Sacramento Kings. Seattle sports fans seemed pleased by the deal, but confessed they don’t know much yet about their new home team.

It's official — Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn is running for reelection. At a campaign kickoff last week, he laid out his vision of Seattle as the “city of the future,” and promised to work harder on job training, public safety, early education and transit. On the first day same-sex couples can get married in Washington state, Seattle City Hall will serve as a wedding chapel.   Mayor Mike McGinn's office is playing the role of planner. On Monday, it posted the itinerary for a historic wedding ceremony on Dec. 9.
