Reaction To The Zimmerman Trial Over the weekend a jury of six found George Zimmerman not guilty of second degree murder and the lesser charge of manslaughter in the shooting of 17-year old Trayvon Martin. Protests erupted around the country following the verdict, including a rally of at least 400 people in Seattle’s Westlake center. The incident and subsequent trial touched a nerve with the American public, igniting a debate about race relations in America.
