Sesame Street wasn't the first work of art to have characters who lives in trash cans. Samuel Beckett did it first, in "Endgame." As odd, beautiful, and compelling a piece of theatre as you'll see in your life. What's it about? What else, but death, despair, hopelessness and...keeping going. Director Peter Kappler on his new production which starts tonight in Olympia.
Today also sees the third part of our series with the candidates running for Pierce County Executive. Today Calvin Goings outlines his approach to the county budget deficit, the Sound Transit 2 proposal and other major issues facing the electorate this November. This interview in collaboration with Tacoma's Exit 133 and The Tacoma Daily Index.
And young cellist Joshua Roman, who recently left his position as principal cellist of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. The critically acclaimed musician is embarking on a career as soloist. In advance of his performances tonight at Town Hall Seattle, and over the weekend with the Auburn Symphony Orchestra at the Auburn Performing Arts Center, he talks to Dave Beck about the challenges and rewards of his new life.
