Senator Barack Obama was elected to serve as a U.S. Senator for Illinois in 2005, after seven years in the Illinois State Senate. He serves on the Environment and Public Works Committee, the Veterans' Affairs Committee, and the Foreign Relations Committee. He graduated from Harvard Law School where he was the first African American president of the Harvard Law Review. His book is The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream.
