Capitalism vs. Environmentalism

Environmentalist Gus Speth was an adviser in the Carter White House. Today he says we need to make basic changes to capitalism if there is any hope of avoiding environmental catastrophe. Does capitalism harm the environment? Speth has been an environmentalist for more than three decades and co–founded the Natural Resources Defense Council. He is currently dean and professor of environmental policy at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
