She recently left her position as the artistic director of Richard Hugo House, a literary center she founded with her friends in 1997. Her first book of poems, "The Stenographer’s Breakfast," was published by Beacon Press. Marty Campbell describes himself as "an uncontrollable writer all of his 41 adult years." His work appears in the Caribbean anthology Yellow Cedars Blooming and in the journals Hampden-Sydney Poetry Review, RHINO, and others. He lives near Mt. Madonna, California.
