Seattle's own Michael Medved talks to more than four million listeners every weekday on his nationally syndicated radio show. He dropped out of Yale Law School in the early 1970s to become a Democratic speechwriter and consultant, but by 1980 he was campaigning for Ronald Reagan. Medved has been an outspoken conservative since then.
Medved was a film critic and longtime co–host of "Sneak Previews" on PBS. He's the author of several books about bad movies including "The Fifty Worst Films of All Time." He got his talk radio break when Rush Limbaugh invited him to guest host his show.
Michael Medved is a senior fellow at the Discovery Institute, a proponent of intelligent design. He is baal teshuva, which means he was raised as a secular Jew but became an Orthodox as an adult. He says he is a "passionate believer in Sasquatch."
Medved's new book is "The 5 Big Lies About American Business: Combating Smears Against the Free Market Economy." He spoke at Town Hall Seattle on December 17, 2009. The talk was presented by the Elliot Bay Book Company and Town Hall's Center for Civic Life and supported by The Boeing Company and RealNetworks Foundation.
