Watergate: Answering Who Knew What And When

Ross Reynolds speaks with John Dean, who was President Richard Nixon's one-time legal counsel and was a pivotal figure in the Watergate scandal that led to Nixon's resignation in 1974.

Dean pleaded guilty to a single felony count in exchange for becoming a key witness against the president. An estimated 80 million watched Dean's week-long televised testimony to the Senate Watergate Committee.

Since Watergate, Dean has written 10 books, five of them about Watergate, including his most recent, “The Nixon Defense: What He Knew and When He Knew It." It’s a day-by-day narrative of Watergate using transcripts of recordings made at the White House.

The subtitle refers to a famous question Senator Howard Baker asked Dean at the time. Dean now says he knows the definitive answer to those questions.
