The latest Donald Trump bombshell is sparking a flurry of response from Washington state's congressional delegation.
The New York Times reports that fired FBI Director James Comey wrote a memo saying the president asked him to shut down an investigation into former national security adviser Michael T. Flynn.
The White House has flat-out denied the story.
But that's not enough for Rep. Pramila Jayapal. In a statement she said:
“If true, Donald Trump’s attempt to influence and intimidate the FBI Director James Comey to block an investigation is a textbook definition of obstruction of justice and it would be an impeachable offense.”
Or for Sen. Patty Murray:
It’s long past time for everyone to put politics aside, do what’s right for our democracy, and demand answers. https://t.co/JNgyaS8Ekk

Even Republican Rep. Cathy McMorris-Rodgers told CNN: "I think it's really important right now that we hear from the White House. I think the White House needs to be open and transparent about what's going on, too."
Of course Director Comey should testify. I believe an open, transparent government is most effective for the people we represent.
