Sounds Of The Day, 10.28.13 - 10.31.13
Monday, October 28
We know now that the Boston Red Sox won the world series, but Monday we were only four games in. Listener Taffy was lucky enough to score tickets to the first game. It's tradition for Red Sox fans to sing "Sweet Caroline" during the eighth inning of a game at Fenway Park. Taffy took us to the park for that moment when she recorded this sound, can you hear the passion?
Tuesday, October 29
When listener Patricia needs a break from the daily grind, she and her dog Punch walk down to the beach near her house in Coupeville to eagle and duck watch. Punch likes to wade into the water and chew on the occasional log. This is what that sounds like.
Wednesday, October 30
Andrea has been hearing this sound since the spring. She and her family hear a frog regularly but never see it. During the cold snap this week, Andrea became afraid for the safety of the frog. However the next day, she heard the frog again strong and croaking as ever.
Thursday, October 31
Halloween is a day full of eerie sounds. Listener Noel sent us a sound that was fitting for the occasion. A couple of years ago his son and daughter in law were wandering around an old decommissioned army fort. One of the bunkers had doors that still swung open and closed, and made such a delicious sound that he recorded it and sent it in.
Our days are filled with interesting sounds, and The Record loves to hear them! Each day we play the sound of your day. If you are hearing interesting sounds around you, record 30 seconds and send it to us with a short story about the sound.
