Shooting In Ravenna, Suspects At Large

KIRO's Natasha Chen reports that three area Seattle Public Schools that had been in "shelter in place" mode are now functioning as normal.

According to the Seattle Police Department blotter two suspects are involved and the victim is 56 years old. If you have information about the shooting please call the SPD tip line at 206.233.5000.

On Tuesday at 8:35 a.m., Seattle Police and Fire units responded to a shooting at approximately 26th Avenue NE and NE 55th Street.

According to the Ravenna Blog, eyewitness accounts say that a man opened fire on another man who is now at Harborview Medical Center. His condition is unknown. The shooting suspect is still at large.

Nearby Bryant Elementary School went into “shelter in place” mode: Students were allowed inside and school continued as usual. Assumption-St. Bridget is in “modified lockdown" at this time.

Metro routes using NE 55th Street (numbers 30 and 74) are affected.
