Carmen Best has gone from interim chief to police chief designate... but not without a few twists and turns. She joined Ross Reynolds by phone, along with Mayor Jenny Durkan, to discuss her upcoming tenure and the convoluted nomination process that got her there.

Seattle Day of Homelessness has several publications across the city examining one of the region's thorniest issues. David Kroman from Crosscut/KCTS, Scott Greenstone from the Seattle Times, and KUOW's Kate Walters spoke about their reporting for the project.

The Race to Alaska invites participants to get from Port Townsend to Ketchican, Alaska - no limits other than staying on the water under human power. Puget Sound-area team Sail Like a Girl was the first all-woman team to win the 750-mile race. Three of the eight team members, Aimee Fulwell, Allison Ekberg Dvaladze, and Jeanne Goussev, joined Ross to discuss the experience.
