Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan announced Interim Police Chief Carmen Best will be the permanent replacement for the job. We talked to a member of the community police commission, Lisa Daugaard, and Seattle City Councilor Lorena González about the final decision.

And KUOW Reporter Austin Jenkins is out with a new five-part series this week on traumatic brain injuries and 16 patients that Washington state sent to a rehabilitation center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We talk to Jenkins and Katie Walker, a woman whose mother suffered a traumatic brian injury after a car accident and was among those sent to Tulsa.

Plus, should Seattle continue to invest in tiny house villages? We speak to Sharon Lee, executive director of the Low Income Housing Institute, and Elisabeth James, co-chair of the grassroots organization Speak Out Seattle.

Finally, it's not summer in Seattle unless you see a sailboat glide by in Lake Washington or Puget Sound. We listen back to our conversation with Jim Lynch, whose novel Before the Wind about sailing culture in the Northwest, was published in 2016.
