Year started with KUOW: 2010
Jack is the weekday afternoon announcer on KUOW's second program service, 91.7 KUOW2. He also fills in for Amanda Wilde on The Swing Years and Beyond, heard Saturday nights 7:00 p.m. to midnight on 94.9 KUOW.
Jack got his start in radio at college station KWCW in Walla Walla, Washington. He started out spinning tunes on the coveted 3:30 a.m.– 6:00 a.m. Sunday morning shift.
Next stop in the radio world was Seattle music radio station KCMU (now known as KEXP). Jack was production manager at KCMU/KEXP for 12 years. He helped expand the station's live performance schedule from a handful of bands per year to over 400 sessions annually. Jack also oversaw a more than thirty–fold increase in the number of live remotes per year, including broadcasts from New York, Austin, Chicago, Portland, San Francisco and all over the greater Seattle area. As host of the Saturday afternoon music show 180 Minutes on KEXP, he interviewed The Shins, The Gossip, The Raveonettes, Robyn Hitchcock, Nada Surf and American Music Club, among others.
Jack first worked at KUOW in the late 90s, filling in for evening announcer Bill O'Grady and others. After a decade away, Jack rejoined the KUOW staff in 2010.
