President and CEO, Islandwood
Ben Klasky is the president and CEO of Islandwood, a unique 255–acre outdoor learning center located on Bainbridge Island. Prior to joining Islandwood, Ben served as the executive director of Net Impact, a global organization of MBAs using the power of business to address social and environmental challenges.
Ben currently teaches social entrepreneurship at UW’s Evans School of Public Affairs and a master’s class on nonprofit management through SPU. Ben’s career ranges from advising Fortune 500 companies as a management consultant at Deloitte Consulting, to fundraising as a development director at Teach for America, to teaching third grade in a severely under-resourced school district in Louisiana.
Ben holds an MBA and a M.A. in education from Stanford University. He lives on Bainbridge Island with his wife and two young sons.
