Graphic Designer

KUOW has an exciting opportunity for a Graphic Designer reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer.  This person will be responsible for stewarding KUOW’s visual identity in all internal and external communications.  As our first (and currently only) graphic designer, he/she will expand upon our existing brand style guide to produce beautiful, compelling, impactful graphic designs for print and digital mediums.  The Graphic Designer will produce artwork to support new KUOW content including podcasts, events, and programs.  We’re looking for someone with fresh thinking and bold ideas to take our brand to a new level and reach a younger, more diverse audience. 

Ideal candidates should have 3+ years’ experience in graphic design, both print and digital.  He/she must be fluent in design programs such as the Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator).  Additional experience in motion graphics, video production, web design, or photography is ideal.  When submitting your resume, please be sure to include a link to your online portfolio (if you have one).

Social Media Producer

KUOW has an exciting opportunity for a social media producer. We’re looking for candidates with excellent writing skills, impeccable editorial judgment and experience managing social media accounts for a journalism or media brand. Reporting to the Social media Strategist, this position manages all KUOW social media accounts and works with all KUOW departments to design and deploy meaningful online engagement with listeners in the Puget Sound region. Aural Content Producer

KUOW has an exciting opportunity for an Aural Content Producer reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer.  This person will be responsible for developing and executing our audio promotion strategy to help KUOW more deeply engage its audience.  He/She must think strategically about how we can use our owned media channels (primarily on-air promotions) to drive deeper audience loyalty.  Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and working cross-functionally with content/programming, community engagement, membership, and corporate sponsorship/business support teams. 

Ideal candidates will have Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years’ experience in professional broadcast production and competency with state of the art digital editing software and inventory management systems.  Candidates must show fluency with both the artistic/creative side of audio content and take a data-driven, analytical approach to tracking performance and impact of spots.
