Town Hall — TownMusic: Brooklyn Rider

KUOW and Town Hall present TownMusic with contemporary string quartet Brooklyn Rider, featuring members of Yo—Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble on Tuesday, February 9. Brooklyn Rider recreates the 300—year—old form of string quartet as a vital and creative 21st century ensemble. A Prairie Home Companion — 'Cinecast' in Seattle

Join KUOW for a special Encore performance of A Prairie Home Companion's Live in HD "Cinecast" this Tuesday, February 9. The performance features Garrison Keillor, Dusty and Lefty, and musical performances by Jearlyn and Jevetta Steele, Heather Masse, Robin and Linda Williams, and Mr. Elvis Costello. Simple Measures — 'Fire' With Alex Klein

KUOW and Simple Measures present former UW faculty and Chicago Symphony oboist Alex Klein playing music for oboe, piano and strings, with Simple Measures artists, in their informal, up—close and interactive format. The theme for this concert is "Fire" and features works by Mozart, Mendelssohn, Britten, Bolcom and others. February 12 – 15 at Queen Anne/Magnolia, Wallingford, Mercer Island and Mount Baker venues. KUOW and Central District Forum for the Arts & Ideas (CD Forum) present Cynthia Oliver Company Dance Theatre and the West Coast premiere of "Rigidigidim De Bamba De: Ruptured Calypso." Oliver's dance theatre project explores Caribbean calypso dancing and its translation as bodies move across geographical, cultural and imaginary boundaries. IslandWood — National Geographic All Roads On The Road Film Festival

KUOW and IslandWood present the National Geographic All Roads On the Road Film Festival, featuring films from New Zealand, Israel, Peru, Mexico, Paraguay, Bolivia, Canada and the United States. All Roads provides an international platform for artists and filmmakers from indigenous and underrepresented cultures and communities to share their stories through film and photography. KUOW and Seattle Public Theater present "The Violet Hour." Set in 1919 New York — after the war and before the financial crash — a young publisher must choose between publishing the work of a friend or his mistress. Renton Civic Theater — 'Footlight Frenzy'

KUOW and Renton Civic Theater present "Footlight Frenzy," on stage February 19 – March 6 at the Renton Civic Theatre. In this comedy, an inexperienced PTA group makes a desperate attempt to save their bankrupt School for Unusual Children by mounting an ambitious benefit play written by a has–been Broadway director. Book–It Repertory Theatre — 'The River Why'

KUOW and Book–It Repertory Theatre present the world premiere of "The River Why" by David James Duncan. Burien Little Theatre — 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'

KUOW and Burien Little Theatre present Arne Zaslove's rock 'n roll version of Shakespeare's romantic comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Set at Athens High on Graduation night 1957, the characters, in poodle skirts and leather jackets, sing and dance the night away in a bebopping comedy of mistaken identities, featuring classic 50s rock 'n roll tunes.
