Up until now, the Mariners have been required to share their TV revenue with other major league baseball teams. By controlling their TV rights the Mariners will be able to keep much of that revenue for themselves.

So how will this impact their success on the field? How has this worked out for other teams? Ross Reynolds talks with sports editor for The Nation, Dave Zirin.
Thu, 18 Apr 2013 19:17:05 +0000 The Conversation With Ross Reynolds 11626 at http://kuow.org Why Are The Mariners Getting Into The Television Business? The course itself is way at the back of the parking lot of Edmonds Community College. The only clues you’re in the right place are the high ball nets surrounding the course. And, of course, golfers like Espie Grundy and Jackie Garmeyer, who are wheeling their clubs towards the green for their weekly tee time. “We try to play even if it’s raining,” Espie says.
Wed, 17 Apr 2013 23:39:27 +0000 Jeannie Yandel 11561 at http://kuow.org An Uncertain Future For Lynnwood Municipal Golf Course Seattle Area Marathoners Recount Explosions In Boston http://kuow.org/post/seattle-area-marathoners-recount-explosions-boston

Runners from the Seattle area spoke to KUOW about the explosions at Monday’s Boston Marathon. Seattle wouldn’t get another professional team until 1977, when the Mariners were born. What happened? The answer has a lot to do with money and politics. Bill Mullins tells the story in “Becoming Big League: Seattle, the Pilots and Stadium Politics." Plus, the Mariners beat Oakland 2-0 last night to win their seventh straight opening day game. Sportspress Northwest's Art Thiel joins us with an outlook on their chances this season.
Tue, 02 Apr 2013 22:54:43 +0000 Weekday with Steve Scher 10772 at http://kuow.org Is It Madness To Root For Gonzaga This March? http://kuow.org/post/it-madness-root-gonzaga-march

Ross Reynolds talks with The Nation's sports editor, Dave Zirin, about how Gonzaga University's basketball team has worked their way into the frenzy that is March Madness.
