New Dynamics for City Council
Seattle voters have endorsed two Seattle City Council incumbents for another term: Richard Conlin and Nick Licata. But two new members will shake up the council's dynamic. Results so far show Sally Bagshaw and Mike O'Brien poised to take those seats. More »

Constantine Claims Win, Hutchison Waits
Dow Constantine has declared victory in the race for King County Executive, although his opponent Susan Hutchison has yet to concede. Tuesday's results were a striking reversal for Hutchison, who led the race after the August primary. More »

Slight Lead for Referendum 71
The ballot measure to confer additional rights to gay couples and other domestic partners has a slight lead after the first round of statewide vote counting. As of 12:30 this morning, fifty–one percent of Washington voters have approved Referendum 71. Forty–nine percent have rejected the measure. More »

Analysis of Initial Returns
The first returns from this fall's election are in. The Seattle mayoral campaign is too close to call. Dow Constantine is declaring victory in the King County Executive race. Gay–rights supporters are being cautiously optimistic, as Referendum 71 appears to be passing. The other statewide ballot measure, Tim Eyman's Initiative 1033, appears to be failing. KUOW's Derek Wang spoke with University of Washington Political Science Professor Matt Barreto to get some analysis of the initial results. More »
