Baker as “an icon of boundless creativity, inspiration, and individual freedom,” which he works to express through his paintings. Whitehead is a self-taught artist who creates colorful landscapes inspired by Mt. Baker, the surrounding Nooksack Valley foothills, and Mt. Shuksan. He paints in acrylic on canvas, murals, walls, rock, wood, and fences - just about any surface that is made available. A natural explorer and avid snowboarder and hiker, Whitehead’s love of the scenery. He utilizes the resources of the local mountains’ natural, wild beauty and originality to create visual art for others to appreciate “eternally and internally.”
