Ananda Mela (Joyful Festival of India) is a free outdoor event organized by Vedic Cultural Center(VCC) in partnership with City of Redmond on July 29th & 30th. This event showcase the Indian culture to the Northwest audiences in a palatable way. In each of the last seven editions, this event has drawn over 20,000 people to the festival grounds. This year the theme is Vedic Village and Cow Protect. VCC plans to show case Vedic Village, which is the life style of people in the ancient times in India. With the aim of highlighting how the ancient ways and means were sustainable to the environment and still hold value for the present times. Especially, the reliance on cow and cow products and their benefits will be showcased in a way that is unknown to the western world. In addition to the theme of the year, the event will feature a lot of fun activities for everyone. The visitors will be enthralled with artistic displays, interactive games and activities, cultural performances, music, henna, face painting, competitions, bouncies, shopping and above all delicious Indian food.
